2. Do you build on sloping blocks?
Do we build on sloping or difficult blocks? Yes we do. It’s about understanding the slope of the land and how we can best design the house that will sit nicely on the block. Check out our gallery to see some of the sloping block homes we have designed and built.
3. How much does it cost to build a custom home?
How much does it cost to build a custom home? Complexity of the design, the inclusions, orientation and the slope of the block are all influencing factors when working on a price.
4. What is the process of building a new custom home build?
When it comes to building a new custom home there are a number of factors that are taken into account during the build process. This includes the size/style of your home, block, approval process and desired outcome. Our goal is to make your new home journey as stress free and enjoyable as possible.
5. How long will it take to build
my new home?
How long does construction take? This is one of the most common questions we get asked. Depending on the size of the house, inclusions and complexity of the home, it can range from up anywhere between 7 to 9 months.
6. I find it hard to visualise a floor plan. How can we get around this?
Being able to visualise a home before it’s built can often be difficult for some people. Find out how we overcome this with our 3D visualisation tool that creates a virtual walk through of your design before we start building.
7. How will I know what's happening throughout the build?
At Crighton we pride ourselves on keeping you updated throughout your whole building journey so you’ll always know what’s happening on site and your schedule for the coming months.
8. Do you build environmentally friendly homes?
Do we build environmentally friendly homes? Yes, one of our core design elements is passive solar design. One of the main benefits of having an environmentally friendly home is having a cooler house in summer yet warmer home in winter, ensuring your home keeps a low carbon footprint.
9. What makes you different from other custom builders?
One of the key benefits of a custom home builder is flexibility. It is your home, your way. What sets us apart from other custom home builders is that we are a family owned business and we treat all our clients as family and if their homes were our own.
10. Do you offer
Fixed Priced Contracts?
We pride ourselves in offering clients fixed priced contracts. We don’t hide any costs from our clients and are transparent from the very beginning. You can take our price straight to your lending consultant with confidence!
11. What is the Home Building compensation fund?
Home Building Compensation Fund is a mandatory insurance taken out by your builder to ensure your house is completed in the case of defective work or insolvency. This is paid by the builder and invoiced to you at contract signing stage.
12. What is a Variation?
A variation may include additions, changes to items or positions of windows or doors and we may even suggest any variation to you. However, before any variation is made, a form will be submitted to you for approval and the cost will be invoiced to you after the completion of the variation.
